Since my childhood I always had a question, what we all are running for? I always have seen people simply running with time, Mostly people are competing and moving on and on, not only moving they are simply running and running. Since I was born in this society I was also thrived to run, I did not have any idea, but I was simply meant to run , I was taught to run because if I don’t run others will overcome me , so I had to run , only run. Later I asked my mother “mom why are we running? Cannot we move slowly?” She answered” If u don’t run, u will be surely dominated in this male dominated society.” It was a readymade answer and truth, I accepted. Later I asked my teacher “madam, why we all are following the same path for running?” She answered “we girls are always dominated in this society so we are following the same path for our equality, because if you don’t earn money later as your husband and brother, they will dominate you, so for your equality you need to follow the same path and earn as them and be able as they are.” The word equality stroke my mind, I asked her again “men are not able to give birth to a children, so why they are not fighting for their equality? Because we too can dominate them for this reason.” She smiled and answered me “that’s not the point dear.” Then I was a student of 8th standard.Since then one of my favorite word is “the equality”.
Later I always started to see the things from the view of equality. In science there is gravitational constant(G=6.67x 10-11 N/m2) and Pi(3.1416), why don’t G runs so that its value would be equal to Pi and why don’t pi runs so that it would also have a unit . I think it would have been much better if time had run to become mass and mass to become current and similarly current to become length. Why do I need equality? I have my different roles and responsibilities than my brother or my husband or my father.
The question of equality comes from comparison. We always start to compare a male and a female, and it gives us a splendid way to think to be equal, and the way of achieving equality is to do the same things as I have done. But why cannot we think that 3 is only equal to 3, 3 is lesser than 4 if it is counting but 3rd rank is better than 4th. The mathematics as well science shows that everything has its value and if gets compared then it is sure that one needs to be better and the next becomes only good. So the main problem is in comparison. 3 is good in its place as well as 4 is good in its place. Then why we are comparing male and female, they are humans but they are completely different creations of nature. Nature has made them different then why one can be equal to another? Both of them are good in their own way. In mathematics only a variable is able to be equal with two values, but females are not variables so they need to be equal to another. Nature has given me, my own roles and responsibilities, I have my own way. I have my own script in this world’s drama then why should I follow others script?
The concept of equality comes from dominating tradition. Male used to work and they thought that they are feeding women so they can dominate them, and women started to work for equality, later the society and then the country have started to provide reserved seats for women to help them to be equal in the society in every field of society. It is really good to struggle for our own existence and thank you every one for giving us support to be here. My concern is not about, women should not get education, it is really good if every part of our society becomes educated. The main concern is comparison better to say equality. The question is either a girl needs equity with a boy or a boy with a girl. Most often if a girl is doing good then we say “oh! she is doing as good as a boy. ”Why do we need this comparison? Mostly boys speak “girls get reserved seats so it is easy for a girl to do better than boys.” Most of us have become educated, we have knowledge within us, but unfortunately knowledge is not able to kill the comparison. Still the comparison is alive saying that it is easier for girls, it shows that we have travelled distance applying force but still the displacement is zero showing us no work or no output. I do not want to be like a boy. I am born as a girl and god has given us a different role than a boy. So I do not want equity with boys, I have my own role, very different from a boy. If you can ,respect me or accept me for that I am , if you cannot then please don’t compare me with you. I am a different creation of nature with my own identity and roles and responsibilities.
